Firefighters from local, state, and federal agencies responded to the Bates Fire in the Tooele County foothills on August 6. The blaze was reported near Bates Canyon Road and was initially estimated at 30 acres.
The community came together to celebrate and reenact Pioneer Day on Friday at the Benson Grist Mill. For this year’s Pioneer Day on July 24, Tooele County’s Parks and Rec and Benson Grist Mill hosted “Pioneer Fun at the Mill,” which is located at 325 UT-138 in Stansbury Park.
