A man in his 70s died after being hit by a car in a grocery store parking lot in Southern Utah.
According to officials with the Cedar City Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately noon on a Friday while the man was walking in the Smith's parking lot.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and performed CPR on the victim, but he died from his injuries.
Police did not release the identity of the man as they worked to notify his family. Officers noted that no arrests were made because the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. Police stated that no charges have been filed at this time and no further information is available for release.
