Pre-Application Activities for the Carbon Free Power Project
On November 10, 2023, Carbon Free Power Project (CFPP), LLC and NuScale Power (NuScale), LLC submitted a letter and informed the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff that the CFPP project has been terminated and requested to withdraw the Limited Work Authorization application, Exemption Request, and the Topical Reports associated with the CFPP combined license application (COLA). Accordingly, effective November 13, 2023, the NRC staff has suspended its review of the CFPP submittals in support of its COLA.
CFPP planned to submit a COL application, referencing the NuScale Standard Design Approval (SDA) for a 77 MWe module plant design (NuScale US460).
