The Widemouth Two Fire continues to expand in Millard County, having burned more than 84,000 acres with zero percent containment. The lightning-caused wildfire has prompted local emergency declarations and expanded evacuation orders into Sevier County.
Approximately 420 firefighters are currently assigned to the blaze. Crews are working to protect several nearby communities, including Fillmore, Kanosh, and Meadow.
Fillmore's mayor has declared a local emergency, and Millard County has also issued an emergency declaration. In Sevier County, more evacuations are being ordered, with officials estimating that approximately two dozen properties in the Joseph Peak area are now in danger.
Fire officials have warned that hot, dry, and windy conditions may cause the fire to grow rapidly. Residents are urged to monitor updates regarding evacuations.
