A girl reported missing from Garden City in May 2025 has been safely recovered in Oregon, according to a November 1 report. The juvenile was located this afternoon with a 39-year-old male, who was taken into custody without incident, according to information shared by the FBI Salt Lake City.
FBI Director Cash Patel stated that local police in Oregon brought the minor, who had been missing for a year and a half, to safety acting on information provided by the FBI Salt Lake City Office. Patel expressed gratitude that the girl can return home and noted that agencies will continue working with partners to hold those responsible accountable.
The FBI and the Rich County Sheriff have been investigating the case for more than a year. Officials noted that the case remains ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
