The Wales Town Planning and Zoning Committee approved several residential construction permits during a meeting held on Aug. 18, 2026, according to meeting minutes published Sept. 11.
During the meeting, the committee approved an application by Tim Eastman for a covered deck at 99 West 200 South, pending verification of required setbacks. The committee noted the project had been previously approved in original house plans. Additionally, a single-family residence at 30 North State, assigned address 50, was approved pending setback verification after the committee confirmed the lot meets the minimum half-acre requirement.
The committee also approved an application by Holly Wasecha for a porch on the west side of her residence, noting no issues regarding easements or setbacks. Regarding property at Ellie Hall, Lee Fox reported that after consulting with FEMA floodplain manager Tracy Harrison, it was confirmed that no mitigation or additional flood insurance is required because the house is set back 100 feet.
Secretary Lee Fox announced his resignation from the committee. The committee acknowledged Fox's nearly 30 years of service and his work establishing town planning templates. Town Deputy Clerk Doug McMullin is expected to take over the secretary role.
