Hildale has officially installed new welcome signs at the gateways to the community. City leaders stated that the project was intended to ensure the entrance to town reflects the warmth and pride for which Hildale is known.
The new signage is designed to demonstrate the city's commitment to creating an inviting atmosphere that represents the values and spirit shared throughout the community.
The project was made possible through a partnership involving the Hildale City Council, the Washington County Commissioners, and the America 250 initiative. To secure funding, city officials wrote a letter to the Washington County Commissioners regarding the importance of the signs, resulting in an award of $10,000 toward the project.
Local businesses and community members provided significant in-kind donations of time, labor, and materials, which allowed the initial funding to support multiple signs rather than just one. Liston Metal Works crafted the lettering for the signs, while Prime Excavating performed the rock setting for the foundations.
Additional contributions included landscaping work by Backyard Services and JNJ, with JNJ specifically providing labor for the additional sign located at Uzona. An anonymous donor provided the lighting used to illuminate the signs.
The new signage serves as a gateway into Hildale that captures the identity of the community. The project stands as a shared accomplishment between city council members, county commissioners, local businesses, and donors.
