The Ephraim Library adult book club is scheduled to meet Saturday, November 7 at 1:00 pm to discuss the book Solito by Javier Zamora. The meeting will be hosted by librarian Chrissi.
The selected book, Solito, is a memoir detailing Javier Zamora's three-thousand-mile journey from El Salvador through Guatemala and Mexico toward the U.S. border. The narrative follows nine-year-old Javier as he travels with a group of strangers and a coyote to reunite with his mother and father.
According to the library, the memoir provides an account of a perilous journey involving desert treks and boat trips, while also highlighting moments of kindness and love encountered by migrants.
