Multiple roads in Emery, Carbon, and Sanpete counties are undergoing cleanup following recent flooding.
In Emery County, debris caused by the floods led to a temporary shutdown of a portion of state Route 31 in Huntington Canyon.
The impact of the flooding extended to other areas, with state Route 28 experiencing similar conditions.
Cleanup operations are currently being conducted to address the effects of the flooding on these transportation routes.
The hotly anticipated return of the coal bowl between the Emery Spartans and the Carbon Dinos arrived in the Castle Country on Friday, Aug. 21, as the Dinos traveled to Castle Dale for a non-region contest against the Spartans. Having not lost to Carbon since 2018, Emery extended its ongoing win streak over the Dinos, defeating its cross-county foe 41-14.

CASTLE DALE – On Monday, Aug. 17, the community of Castle Dale and surrounding areas came together to ease the burden of going back to school with a back-to-school event, that provided free haircuts, clothing and essential supplies to local children and families.
