Taxpayers in Sevier County have a formal process through the Board of Equalization to appeal the fair market value assigned to their property by the County Assessor.
Where to file appeals
Appeals regarding these valuations may be filed with the Sevier County Clerk/Auditor Office located at 250 N. Main St., Suite 100, Richfield, UT 84701.
Required forms and procedures
The appeal process requires a separate Request for Review - Locally Assessed Real Property Form to be filed for every parcel involved. All applications must be completed and signed prior to being submitted to the Clerk/Auditor Office.
Rules for third-party representation
In cases where an individual is being represented by another person, they must also complete and sign an Authorization to Represent Record Fee Owner Form.
Deadlines for submitting evidence
According to state law, property owners have a deadline to submit applications along with all supporting evidence and documentation. This deadline is 45 days from the date valuation notices are mailed or September 15, whichever occurs later.
