The Slough Canyon wildfire has reached a size of 4,668 acres, according to a report published August 25. The Bureau of Indian Affairs is managing the incident within the Uintah and Ouray Agency.
As of the most recent update, the wildfire is 25% contained. The incident is located near Ft. Duchesne, Utah, within the Uintah and Ouray Agency.
Recent incident media has documented various aspects of the fire, including fire activity in canyons, mixed-conifer burning, and the use of retardant lines. Documentation from August 25 and August 26 also includes photographs of firing operations and burn operations.
