An Elko woman who was airlifted to a Utah hospital after sustaining severe facial injuries during a domestic violence incident on Monday has been pronounced deceased.
Elko police responded to 1525 Opal Drive, where they discovered the victim, identified as Daisy Cortez, inside the residence.
According to a police news release, Cortez had sustained severe facial injuries during the incident.
A man has been arrested following the incident.
The victim was flown to a hospital in Utah for medical treatment before her death was announced.
