The Utah Labor Commission has confirmed that grant funding is still available for small businesses that paid employees during Covid-19 related quarantines. Employers should be able to access reimbursements for these wages through the state.
At present, $900,000.00 in funding for this program remains untouched. The Utah Labor Commission stated they would like to disburse these funds to deserving businesses.
The grant guidelines cover employees who were confirmed to have had the virus and quarantined. Additionally, coverage includes employees who remained home to care for family members who were diagnosed positive and required quarantine.
Small business owners with 50 employees or less who paid wages under these circumstances should be able to qualify for the grant. According to the labor commission, the average time required to complete the application is approximately 20 minutes.
The Utah Labor Commission will provide guidance through the process of setting up portal access to apply for the grant. Employers can use the provided link to determine their eligibility and identify the necessary documentation for the application.
