The Indian Health Service and Haskell Indian Nations University signed a landmark agreement on June 1, 2026, to expand educational and health opportunities.
The agreement between the federal health program for American Indians and Alaska Natives and the university aims to broaden access to resources across both sectors, according to a press release from the Indian Health Service.
In Emery County, the Emery School District has been seeking new substitute teachers and bus drivers following an increase in pay rates. According to a district announcement, substitute teachers can earn between $13.33 and $17.50 per hour.
The district is also recruiting substitute bus drivers at an hourly rate of $20.13, a position that requires a CDL issued by the DMV and bus endorsements. The district noted it can assist applicants in obtaining necessary credentials.
