The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has broken ground on a new temple in Santos, Brazil. Church leaders and local officials gathered Saturday for the ceremony.
Speakers at the event stated that the temple is expected to bring spiritual blessings and support the ongoing growth of the Santos community.
The new two-story temple will be constructed in the Jabaquara neighborhood and will span about 23,000 square feet.
This new project will become one of 24 Latter-day Saint temples in Brazil that are currently operating, under construction, or in development.
