The UFC Freedom 250 event, which took place on the White House South Lawn, resulted in losses of approximately $30 million according to parent company TKO Group Holdings. The invitation-only event was held to celebrate 250 years of American independence and was attended by President Donald Trump and Vice-President JD Vance.
TKO Group Holdings reported that the production and overall costs for the event reached an estimated $60 million. While the event attracted 8.2 million domestic viewers and approximately 34 million views worldwide, the company was unable to recoup the expenses via sponsorships.
A purpose-built structure was constructed for the event to hold about 4,300 seats. No tickets were available to the general public, as invitations were reserved for members of the military, financial sponsors, and political allies.
Financial results for TKO Group Holdings showed an increase in revenue for the second quarter of 2026. However, the company noted that a decrease in profit margin was entirely due to the financial profile of the UFC Freedom 250 event. TKO executive chair and CEO Ariel Emanuel stated that despite a challenging global environment, the company delivered solid results for the second quarter with momentum heading into the latter half of the year.
The event featured a lightweight title fight where Justin Gaethje defeated Ilia Topuria. The night was also marked by a political controversy when Josh Hokit used a post-fight interview to repeat a conspiracy theory regarding former first lady Michelle Obama.
