A string of celebrations is planned in and around Logan over the next two and a half weeks to commemorate America 250. The schedule features various community gatherings, musical performances, and patriotic displays across several local venues.
Musical performance at Logan Tabernacle
The festivities begin Wednesday, July 1, with the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra performing at the Logan Tabernacle at 7:30 p.m. This free event includes patriotic favorites and American folk tunes.
Willow Park main celebration details
On Friday, July 3, Logan's main celebration starts at 6 p.m. at Willow Park. The evening will feature food trucks, the Lonely Hearts Club Band, and the Mile Marker 6 Band, concluding with a large fireworks display. Viewers can also watch the fireworks from Soccer Park, the USU Old Main Amphitheater, or the Logan High School practice baseball field.
Downtown activities for July 3rd
Downtown activities on July 3 include the Laub Plaza splash pad starting at 12 p.m., live music featuring Hartebeest and DJ Manny, and a 7 p.m. showing of Independence Day at the Utah Theater.
July 4th community events schedule
Saturday, July 4, offers several community events. At the County Courthouse Steps, a program begins at 11 a.m. featuring a recitation of the Declaration of Independence, a reenactment of Patrick Henry's Liberty or Death speech, and music from the 7th Infantry Regimental Band. The Main Street Classic Car Cruise-In Parade and live music with Lean Canteen will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Laub Plaza.
Golf tournament registration information
Sports activities include the Men's and Women's America 250 Fourth of July Holiday Sweeps Golf Tournament, which begins at 8 a.m. at the Logan River Golf Course. Registration can be completed by calling (435) 750-0123.
Evening program at Logan Tabernacle
In the evening, Devotion & Shews will take place at the Logan Tabernacle at 6:30 p.m., featuring the Cache Valley Interfaith Choir and a reenactment of John Adams' speech to Congress.
Sunday, July 5, includes the Together in Freedom Patriotic Musical Concert and Picnic at Merlin Olsen Park starting at 5 p.m., featuring over 100 Cache Valley singers and musicians. Later that evening at 6:30 p.m., the Logan Tabernacle will host another Devotion & Shews event with the Cache Valley Good Times Marching Band and a reenactment of the 1776 Remembrance of John and Abigail Adams.
The celebrations conclude on Tuesday, July 14, with the Cache Valley Summer Symphony performing at Logan High School at 7:30 p.m. The program will include special performers The 4 Hims and Abigail Geertsen, featuring music from 250 years of American history.
