The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a flood watch for multiple Utah regions, effective from 9 AM MDT through the evening. The notice covers several areas including the Wasatch Plateau, Western Uinta Basin, Eastern Juab and Millard Counties, Sanpete Valley, Sevier Valley, Castle Country, Zion National Park, South Central Utah, and the Southern Mountains.
In the Wasatch Plateau and Western Uinta Basin, thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall during the afternoon and evening. Similar warnings regarding heavy rainfall were issued for the Eastern Juab and Millard Counties, Sanpete Valley, and Sevier Valley areas.
In the Southern Mountains and Zion National Park, a flood watch is also in effect, with some thunderstorms potentially producing heavy rainfall. South Central Utah and the Castle Country regions are also under a flood watch through the evening.
Weather conditions across the state vary by zone. For instance, the Salt Lake Valley is expected to see sunny conditions in the morning followed by mostly cloudy skies with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s are expected for that area.
