The Bluffdale City Council is scheduled to hold a public meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2026, to consider a proposed text amendment regarding short-term rentals for accessory dwelling units (ADUs). According to a notice published Nov. 5, the meeting will focus on updating the City Code to accommodate these uses.
The proposed amendment involves several changes to the Bluffdale City Code. The changes would amend the definition of 'Short-Term Rental' in Chapter 3.100.010 to include accessory dwelling units. Additionally, Chapter 3.100.020 would be amended to allow short-term rental licenses for ADUs, with a limit of one license permitted per property. The proposal also includes updates to Chapter 11.20.020 regarding zoning definitions and Chapter 11.340.040(F) to allow both internal and detached ADUs to be used as licensed short-term rentals in accordance with BCC 3.100.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Bluffdale City Hall, located at 2222 W 14400 S. The session is intended for receiving public comment on the application, which is identified as Application 2026-35 and presented by staff member Ellen Oakman.
