The BYU offensive line was named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Line of the Week in a report published October 19. The honor follows the unit's performance during the Cougars' 28-24 victory over No. 2 ranked Notre Dame in Irving, Texas.
During the win against the Irish, the BYU offensive line surrendered no sacks and only two tackles for loss. This marked the second consecutive week that the unit did not allow a single sack. The offensive unit totaled 360 yards of offense against Notre Dame, which entered the game as the No. 1 ranked defensive team in the nation.
The performance was notable as Notre Dame had previously held opponents to 214 yards per game while averaging 2.5 sacks and 5.7 tackles. The 360 yards allowed by the Irish was the highest yardage total surrendered by the team since Oct. 18, 2025, against USC. Additionally, BYU rushed for 121 yards against the No. 3 ranked rushing defense of Notre Dame, which had held seven straight opponents under 100 rushing yards dating back to 2025.
No. 2 BYU is scheduled to travel to Orlando to face UCF on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 3:30 p.m. ET at the Acrisure Bounce House. The game will be broadcast on FOX with live radio coverage available on BYU Radio.
