Colorado State quarterback Hauss Hejny and safety Tre'Shawn Moore were named the offensive and defensive players of the week by the Pac-12, according to a Colorado State Athletics announcement. This marks the second time this season that Rams players have received conference weekly honors in the same week.
Hejny recorded five touchdowns during a 56-49 victory over San Diego State on Saturday, October 24. He completed 24-of-31 passes for a career-best 333 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding 85 yards and two rushing touchdowns. He is the first player in the Pac-12 this season to record three passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in a single game, and he is the 10th player in FBS to achieve that feat this season. He is also the second Colorado State player to accomplish the feat, joining Hall of Famer Bradlee Van Pelt, who did so against San Diego State in 2002 and 2003.
Moore earned his first conference weekly honor after making a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown late in the first half. This was the first defensive score for the Rams this season and the program's first pick-six since Ayden Hector achieved the feat against Nevada in 2022. Moore also recorded six total tackles, including two solo tackles, during the game.
The honors for Hejny and Moore follow previous conference distinctions for Colorado State players, including defensive honors earned by Oumar Diomande in Week 1. The Rams hold a 3-4 record and a 1-2 record in the Pac-12.
The Rams are scheduled to play Utah State in Logan, Utah, this Saturday, October 31, at 1:30 p.m.
