North Sanpete School District is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered High School Pep Band Director for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. The position, which is a stipend-based extracurricular role, aims to lead a program that supports school spirit and enhances the student experience at North Sanpete High School.
The selected director will be responsible for recruiting and retaining student musicians, planning regular rehearsals, and conducting the pep band at home football games, basketball games, and other designated school events. Duties include selecting engaging music to energize audiences and collaborating with the school band director, administration, athletic department, and student council.
Responsibilities also involve maintaining high standards of professionalism and student conduct, supervising students during travel and performances, and ensuring the proper care and inventory of school-owned instruments, uniforms, and music. The role requires following all district policies and Utah High School Activities Association regulations.
Preferred qualifications for the position include experience directing instrumental ensembles, marching bands, or similar groups, as well as previous experience coordinating performances at school athletic events. Applicants should possess strong conducting, organizational, and communication skills, along with the ability to motivate students and build a positive team culture.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, pass a background check, and have the ability to work evenings and weekends. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods and lift musical equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
Compensation for this part-time, seasonal position is a stipend based on the district's extracurricular salary schedule. The position does not include benefits.
