Mammoth coach Andre Tourigny expressed pride in how the team defended and maintained structure throughout the game. Logan Cooley, who contributed one goal and one assist, noted that the team's performance provided confidence for the remainder of the season.
Oilers coach Mike Babcock noted that his team competed well despite lacking the depth shown by their opponent. He added that the game provided an opportunity to see various players in the organization. Connor McDavid remarked that the game was a tight-checking contest that ultimately came down to special teams.
The win moves the Utah Mammoth to a 6-2-0 record. The Edmonton Oilers, who were previously the last team in the NHL without a regulation loss, moved to a 5-1-1 record.
Other notable statistics from the game include Barrett Hayton extending his point streak to five games and Evan Bouchard extending his point streak to four games. Keller and Nick Schmaltz have now factored on the same goal seven times this season.
