The Lehi Pioneers girls soccer team finished the Region 3 season tied for second place with a 4-4 record, according to an October 9 report. The team will enter the 6A state playoffs with a 10-8 overall record and a state ranking of 18th by MaxPreps.
The Pioneers finished the second round of league play with a 2-2 record. A significant highlight included a 5-0 road victory against Skyridge on Sept. 24, where junior forward Lillie Watson scored two goals and sophomore goalkeeper Siena Wells recorded a shutout. Freshman Avery Hightower also made her varsity debut during that match at Skyridge.
Lehi concluded the regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 6, with a 3-0 Senior Night victory over American Fork. In that match, Watson scored two goals and Wells earned another clean sheet, a result confirmed by Deseret News scores.
The team's losses during the second round of league play occurred against Lone Peak on Sept. 22 and Corner Canyon on Sept. 29. The Sept. 22 match against Lone Peak resulted in a 2-1 defeat following a lightning delay. Corner Canyon, which also holds a tie for second place in Region 3, defeated Lehi 2-0 at home.
Coach Jonas Hartmann stated to the Lehi Free Press that he believes the team is peaking at the right time. Hartmann credited junior Aly Badger for anchoring the defense and noted that Watson has returned to the form that produced 15 goals and four assists as a sophomore in 2025. Following the win over American Fork, Hartmann said the team delivered after he told them the playoffs start that day.
The 6A playoffs feature a new format this season, qualifying only the top 16 teams in each classification. The 6A playoff bracket is scheduled for release on Saturday, Oct. 10, though Lehi's first-round opponent remains unknown. First- and second-round games are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13, and Thursday, Oct. 15, at home sites. The semifinals and final are scheduled to be played at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman on Oct. 19 and Oct. 23.
Coach Hartmann noted that Lone Peak holds the No. 1 seed. The Pioneers' three most recent games against the Knights have all been decided by a single goal.
