.CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Present: Lisa Becerra, Cathy Burton, Rosane Coleman, Chuck Dillard, Kathy Houston, Hal Luke, Karl

Hal Luke called the meeting to order at 8:33 a.m.
.APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The May 27, 2026 minutes were approved on a motion by Kathy Van Dame and seconded by Karl Schatten.

Next Month Board Member Assignments
Need a Volunteer for the Bingo games on July 4th at Pavilion #5 at 1:00 pm — COVERED
Wood Laminate Floor installation in July

Starts on July 6 and will be a 5-week project. All carpet in the building will be replaced with wood
laminate (like in the Ceramics room).
Drop Ceiling timetable
Will to work on an RFP (Request for Proposal). Also we plan on updating the sound system throughout
the building.
Roof Update
Had to re-open the RFP bid. It will close this Friday, and we will select the contractor in July.
Shed on backside of Building for Storage
Waiting to build after the roof has been replaced and will need to pour a cement pad.
Coffee Update
No complaints since it was moved to the Lobby every morning.
Finalize 4th of July
We will have three entries for our Center in the parade. Our bus, a trailer, and a 1930 or 1931 Ford
Model A Town Sedan for our Greatest Generation members. We will also have walkers with our group.
July 13 Tea Party
We will have an honor guard, readers theater skit, and more for our Liberty Tea Party. We are using
teapots and teacups from our Mother’s Day Tea. We will be serving a variety of hot tea, sweet tea, and
lemonade.
Entertainment at Noon on Friday lunches
They have been going very well. Elvis was great. The music brings a different element of entertainment
to the Center’s Fridays.
Any volunteers that want to help with the 5K race in Murray Park
Let Cory know if interested. The time is from 6:30 am – 9:00 am at Murray Park.
Fall Boutique
The Boutique will be held on Monday, October 19, which is one week later than in years ago. The time
will be from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm. Cost is $40 per table, and the application deadline is Thursday,
August 13.
.REPORT(S)
Director's Report by Cory Plant

Baseball will be at Grant Park for the next few weeks but mostly at night and shouldn’t interfere with
Center programs.
Pickleball players may want to consider not playing when the air quality is poor due to local wildfires.
Moe is retiring next Tuesday, June 30, and we are having an open house breakfast to bid her farewell
on Monday from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. There is no cost for breakfast. Come and wish Moe well.
We have four interviews scheduled for the new program coordinator.
A new program suggestion is to coordinate with local jails to have seniors and inmates meet together
and share experiences to help make an impact on their lives.
.ANNOUNCEMENTS AND QUESTIONS
Advisory Board Comments
Jeff Webster suggested helping out at local elementary schools to improve general reading levels in
the students. It gives the children a better start in life. Kathy suggested having it in conjunction with the
Pen Pal program.
Kathy Houston asked about the Director's Roundtable. Cory said that the program is going well, and he
has about 6–7 people coming each week. It gives the seniors a safe space to discuss issues and keep
them in tune with reality.
Jeff Martin, Parks and Recreation Director, Comments
Thanked everyone for letting him attend the Board meeting this month. He has enjoyed hearing the
board's citizen comments during the City Council meetings. He knows that the City Council appreciates
the voice of the seniors. Thank you for all that you do.

in conspicuous view in the front foyer of the Murray City Center, Murray, Utah. A copy of this notice was
