Wheeler Machinery Co. has announced an agreement to acquire SITECH Intermountain, a move that will integrate the region's authorized Trimble construction technology dealer into its operations. The acquisition aims to create a dedicated construction technology team to better serve customers in the construction, infrastructure, and heavy civil segments.
The acquisition unites two businesses that serve Utah and portions of Wyoming and Nevada. Wheeler Machinery Co. operates a network of 15 locations providing Cat equipment sales, rental, parts, and service. SITECH Intermountain provides Trimble grade control, site positioning, aerial, and construction software from its locations in Salt Lake City and Hurricane, Utah. This integration will allow customers to more easily integrate machine control and jobsite technology across both Cat and mixed equipment fleets.
The SITECH Intermountain team will join Wheeler's existing mining technology team to form a combined Technology Division. This new division will feature in-house analytics, construction-specific and mining-specific applications, and comprehensive site support. Greg Jackson, the vice president of technology who was promoted from SITECH Intermountain, will lead the combined organization. The division's offerings also include fleet management tools such as VisionLink and Cat Central.
Both companies are members of the Campbell Companies family of businesses based in Salt Lake City. Wheeler Machinery Co. has served as Utah's authorized Cat dealer since 1951 and is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2026. SITECH Intermountain was established in 2014 as part of the SITECH global distribution network for Trimble solutions.
The transaction is expected to close on December 31, 2026. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Ben Romney, executive vice president of Wheeler Machinery Co., stated that the addition of SITECH and existing mining technology capabilities will bring industry expertise, analytics, connectivity, and site support under one organization. He noted that the new Technology Division is focused on helping customers improve productivity, reduce costs, and make better decisions across their operations.
