Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has challenged Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet face-to-face in an effort to end the four-year war between their nations.
In an open letter sent to Putin late Thursday, Zelensky stated that Ukraine seeks to conclude the conflict through direct engagement.
Zelensky noted in his correspondence that it is incumbent on both sides to act toward a resolution.
The proposal comes as the conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues into its fourth year.
