The death of Lina Izaguirre Reyes-Geddes has been solved, according to the Bureau of Criminal Identification. The case was officially marked as solved on March 16, 2022.
On April 20, 1998, an unidentified deceased female was found 38 miles from Lake Powell on Utah Highway 276 at milepost 8, near Maidenwater Spring and Canyon Area in Garfield County. The body was found covered with plastic bags, wrapped in duct tape, tied with rope, and placed inside a sleeping bag before being wrapped in carpet and tied with unique complex knots.
In November 2018, the victim was identified as Lina Reyes Geddes through DNA provided by her sister and a national database.
Edward Geddes, the husband of the victim, was identified as the possible suspect. He committed suicide two years after the murder occurred.
