Mo' Bettahs Hawaiian Style Food opened its 36th Utah restaurant on Sept. 25 at 10969 N Town Center in Highland. According to a report published October 2, the new location provides a fast-casual dining option within the Town Center corridor.
The Highland location marks the chain's 83rd restaurant nationwide. The menu focuses on Hawaiian-style plate lunches, featuring items such as teriyaki chicken and steak, kalua pig, pulehu chicken, and katsu chicken. These are served with macaroni salad, steamed rice, and vegetables.
To celebrate the opening, the restaurant hosted a Friends and 'Ohana community event on Thursday, Sept. 24. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. and provided complimentary drinks and mini plates to attendees.
The restaurant operates Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is closed on Sundays. The site at 10969 N Town Center Blvd was listed by Highland City's current projects page as having an approved site plan on Sept. 3, 2025, with a status of construction.
Mo' Bettahs was founded in Bountiful in 2008 by brothers Kimo and Kalani Mack. Before launching the restaurant, the founders worked as city bus drivers on O'ahu. Kalani Mack stated in a press release that Utah is a special place for the brand because it is where he and Kimo first shared the food and traditions from their upbringing.
Following partnerships with Trive Capital, Blue Marlin Partners, and Savory Restaurant Fund, the chain has expanded to eight states. These include Arizona, Idaho, Indiana, Minnesota, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah. The company previously announced plans to expand into Minneapolis, Indianapolis, and Phoenix.
