The Thrive Symposium, titled Adapting While Keeping What Matters, is scheduled for Nov. 11-12 in the Shepherd Union Building. The conference aims to bring faculty together to explore, share, and advance strategies for navigating teaching and learning amid institutional and environmental change in higher education.
According to a notice on the Weber State University website, the symposium focuses on meaningful collaboration, reflective teaching practices, and intentional innovation to cultivate adaptable learning environments that uphold core academic values.
Prospective presenters can submit proposals through Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. Presentations are offered in three formats: a 50-minute Deep Dive involving active learning or discussion, a 25-minute Snapshot focusing on key ideas or research, and a Poster Presentation for sharing research or innovations.
The conference features two primary themes. The Keeping What Matters theme highlights enduring practices, values, and relationships such as curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, belonging, mentoring, or faculty well-being.
The Adapting with Purpose theme focuses on innovative approaches responding to evolving technologies, student needs, institutional priorities, and the changing landscape of higher education, including the integration of AI or digital tools.
