Fire conditions have prevented first-responders from reaching the crash site of a helicopter assigned to the Widemouth 2 Firefighting effort.
The Sevier County Sheriff's Office confirmed that eight hours after the helicopter crash, access to the site remained blocked by fire conditions.
At a 5:05 p.m. news conference, Sheriff Nathan Curtis stated that fire conditions have prevented access to the crash site.
