The city of Saratoga Springs is currently part of the Alpine School District. This district serves the children and youth in the community through a variety of educational institutions. According to the city's own website, the district maintains one high school, two middle schools, and eight elementary schools to serve local students. These institutions include West High School, Westlake High School, Vista Heights Middle School, and Lake Mountain Middle School. The elementary schools serving the area include Harvest Elementary, Riverview Elementary, Thunder Ridge Elementary, Dry Creek Elementary, Springside Elementary, Saratoga Shores Elementary, Sage Hills Elementary, and Harbor Point Elementary.
Beyond the standard school structures, the district provides various augmented and accelerated learning programs within the city. These specialized programs include a Spanish immersion program at Harvest Elementary and a Chinese immersion program at Riverview Elementary. Additionally, Saratoga Shores Elementary features an accelerated learning lab. The district also offers adaptive education opportunities to meet diverse student needs. Residents can utilize a bus and boundaries map maintained by the Alpine School District to look up specific school boundaries and transportation routes.
However, the educational landscape for Saratoga Springs is undergoing a significant structural change. On November 5, 2025, residents voted to create a new school district that includes the cities to the west, such as Eagle Mountain, Fairfield City, and Cedar Fort. This vote followed a previous decision where voters approved splitting the Alpine School District into three separate entities in 2024. Many residents in the western communities expressed concerns regarding rapid population growth, which contributed to worries about representation, school construction priorities, and the ability of a single district to serve a wide area with differing needs.
As a result of these votes, the Lake Mountain School District is being established to serve Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, Cedar Fort, and Fairfield. The first governing board for this new district was sworn in on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Saratoga Springs City offices. During the ceremony, the mayors from each community administered the oaths of office to the seven board members. These members, who were elected in the November 2025 General Municipal Election, are Joylin Lincoln, Julie Myers, Julie King, Charity Judkins, Ilene Strong, Matt Isaacson, and Melissa Sauser. The board has already selected its first officers, naming Julie King as board president and Matt Isaacson as vice president.
The new district has already begun formal administrative operations. The board adopted a fiscal year 2026 budget totaling $750,000, which covers the period from January 1 through June 30, 2026. To establish a physical presence, the board approved a contract to lease office space from Saratoga Springs City at 1307 N. Commerce Drive, which will serve as the district’s administrative location. While organizational work continues, the Lake Mountain School District is scheduled to officially welcome students on July 1, 2027.

Saratoga Springs residents currently rely on the Alpine School District for local education and specialized immersion programs. However, due to recent voter decisions regarding population growth and representation, the community is transitioning to the new Lake Mountain School District. This new entity is scheduled to begin serving students on July 1, 2027, following the recent swearing-in of its first governing board.
