(Speller 228, Ashley Bryner of Price, Utah, representing Mont Harmon Middle School, competes in the Preliminary Round of the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.) ”  Competing in a packed field of 247 contestants, Bryner shone throughout her run in the Bee, advancing through the first three rounds, which saw 152 spellers eliminated, and into the quarterfinals.
