A deep rut runs through the center of the access road to the Red Cliffs NCA. The public is asked to avoid the area; recreating is at your own risk.

LEEDS, Utah – The Bureau of Land Management St. George Field Office is advising the public that access to the Virgin River and Sand Cove Trailhead in the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area (NCA) has been disrupted after recent rain events damaged Babylon Road near Leeds, Utah.

The damaged road is currently impassable for all vehicles. For public safety, the BLM is asking visitors to avoid the area until repairs are complete. Those who choose to recreate in the area do so knowing that emergency response may be significantly delayed, and visitors are entering at their own risk.

The BLM is working with Washington County and the local developer to assess the damage and determine an accelerated timeline for repairs. See map for affected area.

The public’s patience and understanding is appreciated as crews work to safely reopen the area.

For more information, contact the BLM St. George Field Office at (435) 688-3200.
