Weber State suffered a 44-41 home loss to Portland State on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, according to a September 27 report. Despite the defeat, the Wildcats recorded 703 yards of offense, marking the sixth-most yards in a single game in program history.
Receiver Marvin Session recorded five catches for 175 yards and three touchdowns during the game at Stewart Stadium in Ogden. This performance was the most receiving yards in a single game for Weber State since Cameron Livingston recorded 175 yards in 2014. Session's 80-yard touchdown reception just before halftime was the team's longest passing play since 2017. The game also marked the first time since 2024 that Weber State had two 100-yard receivers, as Noah Kjar finished with nine catches for 137 yards.
Freshman quarterback Nate Dahle completed 15 of 27 passes for 338 yards and five touchdowns in 2.5 quarters of play. This was the program's first five-touchdown performance from a quarterback since Richie Muñoz in 2024. While the Wildcats' offense was highly productive, they committed six turnovers, five of which allowed Portland State to start possessions inside Weber State territory.
Portland State's Delon Thompson rushed for 213 yards and three touchdowns. The Vikings also secured a touchdown via a 95-yard kickoff return by Zui Shelton, the first such return touchdown the Wildcats have surrendered since 2022. Eric Kjar noted that the team needs to reduce big plays and improve against the run to see future improvement.
The loss occurred at Stewart Stadium, where Weber State had reached 405 yards through 49 offensive plays by halftime.
