K-State was picked to finish in a tie for 14th place in the Big 12 preseason men's basketball poll, according to a report published October 15.
In the 16-team conference poll released by league coaches, the Wildcats were placed in a tie for 14th with Colorado. No K-State players were named to the league's All-Big 12 Preseason Team.
The preseason poll follows the hiring of Casey Alexander by K-State in March. Alexander previously spent seven seasons at Belmont, where he achieved a 166-60 record.
K-State is scheduled to play exhibition games against Mizzou on Oct. 23 and Nebraska on Oct. 26. The regular season is scheduled to begin on Nov. 3 against South Dakota State.
