Thunder Junction All Abilities Park will host a 10-year anniversary celebration and a groundbreaking ceremony for Phase II on Oct. 20, according to a Oct. 16 report from the St. George Chamber of Commerce.
The dinosaur-themed park in St. George is scheduled to hold the anniversary party from 5 to 7 p.m. to celebrate a decade of serving the community.
The celebration will include food trucks, games, music, face painting, and magic shows. During the event, rides on the C.P. Huntington train will be free to all attendees.
Community resource booths will also be available, allowing guests to connect with organizations that provide services to individuals with disabilities. Hannah Keller, City of St. George Recreation Supervisor at Thunder Junction, stated that the park has been a place where people of all abilities are welcome since it first opened its doors.
The event will also serve as a platform to share plans for the Thunder Junction Phase II expansion. This 2.5-acre expansion will introduce Ice Age-themed equipment, rides, and amenities designed to provide inclusive play opportunities for children of all abilities.
Key features of the expansion are expected to include new slides, play features prioritizing inclusivity, and an additional train stop to improve accessibility and convenience. Hannah Keller noted that sponsorship opportunities for the expansion will be made available to individuals and local businesses.
