The Hurricane City Police Department identified Tammy Lynn Crouse, 66, on Thursday as the woman who died after being struck by a vehicle on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on State Street while Crouse was in a crosswalk at 700 W. State. She passed away due to injuries sustained during the collision.
In a statement, the Hurricane City Police Department expressed its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Crouse.
The department also used the incident to remind motorists to slow down, remain alert, and stay aware of their surroundings while driving. Officials noted that pedestrian safety is a priority and encouraged drivers to exercise caution, particularly in marked crosswalk areas.
The investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
