English artist David Hockney has died at age 88, according to UPI. The artist was recognized for his unique style and bold paintings.
Hockney was also known as an icon in the gay rights community.
Born on July 9, 1937, Hockney was a native of Yorkshire, England. While his roots were in England, he spent many years living in Los Angeles.
His work included paintings produced during the 1950s and 1960s.
