The Utah Humanities Council was awarded $25,000 by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to support cultural awareness initiatives. The grant was designated for Arab/Muslim cultural awareness to support two annual community-based cultural heritage events for Muslim youth in Salt Lake City.
The project was designed and implemented in partnership with the Emerald Project (EP). The funding was part of the Promotion of the Humanities Federal/State Partnership, which aims to promote local, statewide, and regional humanities programming through annual grants to humanities councils.
The award period for the project was scheduled from April 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026. The recipient is located at 202 West 300 North, Salt Lake City, UT 84103-1108, within Congressional District UT-02.
