Wayne County has issued an advertisement for bids regarding the construction of a prairie dog fence at Wayne Wonderland Airport. The project involves the installation of approximately 15,675 linear feet of chain link prairie dog and wildlife fencing, along with gates and gravel road improvements.
Bids for the project must be submitted to the Commission Chambers at the Wayne County Courthouse in Loa, Utah, by 11:00 A.M. local time on Friday, August 14, 2026. At that time, the bids will be publicly opened and read.
The owner anticipates the total bid price for the project will be approximately $940,000. The expected duration for the work is 90 days, and construction is not scheduled to begin before May 1, 2027.
The project is partially funded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As such, it is subject to Made in America Laws, affirmative action requirements, and other federal regulations.
Jones & DeMille Engineering, Inc. is the issuing office for the bidding documents, which are available only in electronic format through the contractor portal. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for August 6, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the Wayne County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
Questions regarding the project must be submitted in writing to Project Engineer Koy Barton by 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 10, 2026. Wayne County reserves the right to reject any or all submitted bids.
