A permit is required for projects such as expanding structures with habitable space, adding decks or carports, and constructing detached structures exceeding 200 square feet. Conversely, certain activities do not require a permit, including replacing electrical lights with equivalent devices or building decks less than 18 inches above the ground that are under 200 square feet.
Business Licensing Procedures
For business operations, the district noted that business licenses must be obtained through an online application portal. Applicants must verify their business name with the Utah Department of Commerce and provide a Sales Tax Number and Federal Employee Identification Number. The guidelines also specified prohibited home-based businesses, which include activities such as motor vehicle repair, junkyards, towing operations, and any use involving hazardous materials.
Code Enforcement and Violations
