Seasonal River Conditions
River travel through Labyrinth Canyon can be enjoyed most times of the year, though winter may bring ice on the river. The heaviest use of the area occurs between Easter and Labor Day.
Motorized Craft and Events
Motorized craft also use this portion of the river. During low water periods, motorboats are limited to a narrow channel that must be shared with other users. The Annual Friendship Cruise, which is a motorboat event, takes place on Memorial Day Weekend.
Fluctuating River Levels
River levels change throughout the summer season. Peak runoff from mountain snow melt typically occurs between late May and mid-June, while water flow decreases to its lowest point during the fall and winter. July and August represent the hottest months, with common afternoon thunderstorms occurring during this time.
Trip Planning and Permits
A minimum of three to four days should be planned for the 68 river miles between Green River and Mineral Bottom, though more time may be needed to explore various sites along the route. Permits are required for these trips.

To reach the Mineral Bottom Recreation Site, travelers can go up Utah Highway 313 for 13 miles and turn west on the road signed Mineral Bottom Road. The site is located approximately 15 miles west on this dirt road, though the final part of the drive includes steep switchbacks descending to the river.
