Alpine School District educators continue a long-standing partnership with the Alpine School District Foundation and DonorsChoose to bring learning resources into local classrooms, according to a September 9 report.
This ongoing effort connects district teachers with parents and community members looking for transparent ways to fund specific classroom needs.
Through the DonorsChoose platform, donors can browse specific requests submitted by local teachers, which include items ranging from STEM supplies to flexible seating.
Mrs. DuShane, a teacher in Eagle Mountain, stated her goal is to create a colorful and welcoming environment that fosters independence, communication, collaboration, and learning skills. She noted that a new rug would provide students a place to learn together, enjoy books, share ideas, and build relationships.
At Fox Hollow Elementary, Mr. Marcano expressed interest in obtaining pencils, glue sticks, stickers, small toys for a treasure box, and books for social-emotional lessons. These books would cover topics such as family and how to face challenges like starting school or managing overwhelming feelings.
Tyler Vigue, Director of the Alpine School District Foundation, stated the goal is to ensure every educator and student in the district has access to extraordinary learning experiences. Vigue noted that community generosity strengthens schools and demonstrates the community's value for teachers' work.
