Utah State University announced Aug. 31, 2026, that the home of Aggie football will be renamed Jim Laub Family Stadium effective Jan. 1, 2027. The renaming honors Jim and Carol Laub for their decades of commitment to the university and Utah State Athletics, a move first announced by the university in May 2026.
A Legacy of Support
The decision to rename the stadium recognizes the longstanding support provided by the Laub family, which has helped advance the athletics department through various conference affiliations and periods of growth. This includes the university's recent transition to the Pac-12 on July 1, 2026.
Campus Facility Investments
Jim and Carol Laub have made significant investments in several campus facility projects. Their contributions include support for the Stan Laub Indoor Facility, the Jim & Carol Laub Athletics-Academics Complex, and the Wayne Estes Center. Additionally, Jim Laub was instrumental in the construction of the Chuck & Gloria Bell Soccer Field and has supported renovations at both the football stadium and the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

Utah State Vice President and Director of Athletics Cameron Walker stated that the Laubs have been instrumental in supporting the university and possess a clear vision for the future of Aggie Athletics. Walker noted that their loyalty, leadership, and investment have been critical to the success and growth of the department, making the naming a fitting tribute to their contributions.
Community Impact
University President Brad Mortensen said the Laubs represent the essence of being Aggies. Mortensen noted that their generosity and commitment have made a lasting difference within Cache Valley, and that having their name on the stadium serves as meaningful recognition of their investment in people and the community.
Distinguished Alumni Achievements
Jim Laub, a 1974 graduate of Utah State University, has a long history of involvement with the institution. He was inducted into the Utah State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013 and received the Contribution to Amateur Football Award from the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Utah Chapter that same year. His previous accolades include the USU Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2004, the Spirit of Old Main Award in 2006, and an honorary doctorate in business and entrepreneurship from Utah State in 2007.
Family and Society Ties
Beyond athletics, Jim Laub has been a member of the university's Old Main Society since 1987 and is a member of the athletics department's Blue A Society. The Laub family involved in this recognition includes Jim and Carol, as well as Eric and Tatum Laub, and Mark, Renae, and Lawson Laub.
Partnership Recognition
The university also used the announcement to recognize Maverik — Adventure's First Stop for its nearly two decades of support. Utah State credited the partnership with Maverik for providing generous scholarship support that has created educational opportunities for students and contributed to community enrichment in Cache Valley.
