The Washington County Water Conservancy District has announced its Water Efficient Landscape Program, which provides financial incentives for property owners to convert grass into water-efficient landscapes.
The district will pay property owners up to $3 for each square foot of grass that is replaced with water-efficient landscaping.
Property owners must follow specific procedures to remain eligible for the program. After an application is submitted, participants are required to take part in a pre-conversion site visit.
According to the district, starting a project before receiving application approval and completing a pre-conversion site visit will make the conversion ineligible for the program.
