The Utah Jazz have officially announced an injury report ahead of their third preseason game of four against the San Antonio Spurs. According to a report published October 12, the Jazz will be playing without three players for the matchup scheduled for Monday night at the Delta Center.
The Utah Jazz injury report includes Kyle Filipowski, Jusuf Nurkic, and Blake Hinson. Filipowski and Nurkic have been sidelined since the start of training camp. Filipowski is recovering from surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back, a situation for which head coach Will Hardy said there is no clear recovery timeline. Nurkic is out due to a foot injury sustained during the first preseason game against the Denver Nuggets, an injury that will keep him out for a minimum of four weeks. Additionally, two-way signee Blake Hinson has been added to the report with an adductor injury.
The San Antonio Spurs will be without a significant portion of their regular rotation for the contest. Nine players are ruled out for the Spurs, including their entire starting five: Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, Devin Vassell, Dylan Harper, and Stephon Castle are all out due to rest. The remaining players unavailable for San Antonio are Tobias Harris, Jayden Quaintance, Carter Bryant, and Malik Williams.
Jaxson Hayes may start at center for the Jazz following the absences of Nurkic and Filipowski. Hayes previously started the Jazz's second preseason game against Denver after news of Nurkic's injury was released. The Jazz will seek their second win of the four-game preseason slate during the 7 PM MT tip-off.
The two teams are scheduled to meet again during the regular season when San Antonio travels back to Utah on October 28.
