The North Summit School District released its November 2026 newsletter on October 29, highlighting upcoming community events and academic deadlines. Superintendent Murdock emphasized the importance of regular school attendance and community connection as the district moves into the colder months.
Several academic and extracurricular events are scheduled for November. The SHARP survey will be administered to high school students on November 3 and to middle school students on November 4, both requiring parent permission. NSHS will hold musical auditions on November 11 at 2:30 p.m., and the annual Veteran’s Day Assembly is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, at 9:00 a.m., preceded by a veteran's breakfast at 8:00 a.m. Additionally, North Summit Middle School will reach the end of its trimester on November 23, and the district will observe Thanksgiving break from November 25 through November 27.
The newsletter provides specific guidelines for student health and nutrition. Students are advised to stay home if they have a fever of 100 degrees or higher, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or an uncontrollable cough. For lunch programs, families can apply for Free and Reduced Lunch through the school office. Students requiring special meals or accommodations must submit a medical form to Trisha Butters at tbutters@nsummit.org or via the school office.
College and scholarship information is also provided for seniors. The newsletter notes that BYU has a priority deadline of November 1, while the University of Utah, Weber State, and Utah State have deadlines on December 1. Additionally, the next ACT test is scheduled for December 12.
The district's speech-language pathologist, Allison Tanner, provided guidelines for identifying children aged 3 and up who may require speech therapy. These guidelines include monitoring hearing, understanding, and talking abilities. Parents can contact Tanner at 435-565-6571 with concerns regarding a child's speech or hearing.
The North Summit School District maintains its office at P.O. Box 497, Coalville, Utah 84017, and encourages parents to communicate regularly with teachers regarding student progress.
