The Price City Fire Department operates as a full-service department serving the community of Price City and parts of Carbon County. The department manages an initial response area covering 250 square miles.
As a National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) combination department, it utilizes a staff consisting of 25 full-time and paid on call personnel.
The department's services include structure and wildland fire suppression, emergency medical services, and hazardous materials response. Additional specialized capabilities involve vehicle extrication and crash rescue, confined space rescue, high angle rescue, and airport firefighting and rescue.
In addition to emergency response, the department conducts fire and arson investigations as well as business fire prevention inspections.
All firefighters within the department are trained and certified through the Utah State Fire and Rescue Academy and the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. Their training is also nationally endorsed through the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress.
The department is led by Fire Chief David Johnson.
