Daymond John, an investor from the Emmy-winning series Shark Tank, is scheduled to speak at Weber State University on Oct. 20. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Austad Auditorium within the Val A. Browning Center.
The presentation is free and open to everyone. John is expected to share his 5 SHARK Points for Success, which are lessons from his career building the apparel brand FUBU and his work as an investor with companies such as Bombas and Sun Staches. He has also invested in several businesses founded by Utahns.
This appearance serves as the keynote address for the Vernon M. and MaRee Buehler Lecture Series. According to Jeremy Oller, dean of the Goddard School of Business & Economics, the series was established to provide the northern Utah community with direct access to prominent innovators.
Oller stated that Utah is a place where people are willing to take risks to build something of their own. He noted that John's story of creativity and determination is expected to resonate with students and local entrepreneurs.
The Goddard School provides year-round support through business centers that offer resources such as entrepreneurship guidance, tax education, and funding opportunities for community members and Wildcats. Because space is limited, attendees are encouraged to RSVP on the event website.
